The first parent-child ward in Saxony-Anhalt offers five child psychiatric treatment places for families with children aged 1 1/2 to 8 years (in individual cases and with appropriate indication expandable to the age range 6 months to 10 years). The flexibly designed and integrative treatment concept combines different therapeutic approaches with a focus on parent-child interaction. The age-adapted forms of parent-child psychotherapy include individual and group offers for parents, children and the entire family, whereby the parents accompany their children throughout their stay in the clinic.

Evaluation of a parent-child ward (ELKI)

In this treatment offer, the child is admitted to child and adolescent psychiatry together with the parents. The treatment concept is flexible and includes individual and group offers for parents, children and the entire family. The aim of the treatment is to break through problem cycles with the parents and children and to discover and try out new ways of living together. Standardized procedures are used to evaluate the effect of this therapeutic approach.
